An exhibition on “International Humanitarian Cooperation” will be held from 20 August to 4 September, at the Cláudio Santoro National Theater, in Brasília. On 6 September, the photo exhibition will be moved to Caixa Cultural, where it will remain open until 30 September.
The exhibition is being organized by the Ministry of External Relations. Approximately 30 photographs will be on display, showcasing operations carried out by Brazil to relieve populations facing humanitarian crises. The images were provided by Brazilian embassies, Brazilian Air Force teams and UN agencies that oversaw the operations.
The exhibition marks the Brazilian celebrations of the World Humanitarian on 19 August, created in memory of the attack against the United Nations Office in Iraq, which left 22 people dead, including Sergio Vieira de Mello, from Brazil, the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Iraq and a UN employee with a significant background on the humanitarian field.
