The Brazilian Government is pleased to inform that the Government of the Republic of Chile has granted its agrément to the appointment of Carlos Sérgio Sobral Duarte as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brazil to that country. According to the Brazilian Constitution, the appointment must still be confirmed by the Federal Senate.
Throughout his career, Carlos Sérgio Sobral Duarte has served in New York, Caracas, Geneva and Buenos Aires. He was Ambassador in New Delhi and Alternate Permanent Representative at the Mission of Brazil to the United Nations.
At the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he was head of the United Nations Division and the Department for International Organizations.
