The Minister of External Relations, Antonio de Aguiar Patriota, will visit Ecuador on May 2. In Quito, he will meet the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Integration of Ecuador, Ricardo Patiño.
The Ministers will assess the main issues on the bilateral agenda, including trade, immigration and technical cooperation. The agenda of cooperation between Brazil and Ecuador covers areas such as digital television, agriculture, biofuels, environment, labor and employment, health and social development.
Trade between Brazil and Ecuador almost tripled between 2003 and 2012, from US$ 375 million annually to more than $ 1 billion. Brazilian exports increased by 152% in the period, while imports increased 7 times.
