The Brazilian Government follows with concern the situation in Mali, where armed conflicts in the city of Nampala, near the border with Mauritania have left hundreds dead and injured. The Brazilian Government condemns the use of violence by armed groups against Mali's armed forces, and conveys its solidarity to the people and Government of Mali.

Brazil deeply regrets the attacks against Malian armed forces on July 19 and 20, and reiterates its repudiation of the use of violence to settle disputes. Brazil also urges different groups operating in Mali to fully follow the spirit and terms of the Peace and Reconciliation Agreement, signed in May of 2015.
