The Argentine Republic celebrates the 200th anniversary of its independence today.
At the commemorations in Tucumán the Brazilian Government is represented by the Minister of Defense, Raul Jungmann, by the Head of the Institutional Security Cabinet of the Presidency, General of the Army Sergio Westphalen Etchegoyen, and by the Ambassador of Brazil in Buenos Aires, Everton Vieira Vargas.
Argentina is a fundamental partner in the construction of the regional integration project represented by Mercosur. It is a prioritary associate for Brazil: the bilateral relationship of friendship and trust has contributed to the establishment of a regional area of peace and cooperation.
The Brazilian Government congratulates the Government and people of Argentina for the achievements since its independence, and reaffirms its willingness to continue with its efforts to build upon existing solid foundations to further strengthen relations between the two countries, within the framework of fraternity, dynamism and a future of shared prosperity.
