The Brazilian Government is pleased to inform that the European Council and the European Commission have granted their agrément to the appointment of Everton Vieira Vargas as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the European Union. According to the Brazilian Constitution, the appointment must still be confirmed by the Federal Senate.
Everton Vargas is the Ambassador of Brazil in Buenos Aires. He has been Ambassador in Berlin, and served at the Embassies in Tokyo and Bonn and at the Brazilian Mission to the UN, in New York. In Brasília, he has served as Undersecretary General, as Chief of Staff of the Secretary General of Foreign Affairs and as Director of the Department for Environmental and Special Affairs.
