The Brazilian Government is pleased to inform that the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany has granted its agrément to the appointment of Mario Vilalva as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in that country. According to the Brazilian Constitution, the appointment must still be confirmed by the Federal Senate.
Since 2010, Mario Vilalva has been the Ambassador of Brazil in Lisbon. Previously, he was Ambassador of Brazil in Santiago, Chile, and Consul General in Boston (1996-1999). Throughout his diplomatic career he served at the Embassies in Washington, Pretoria, Rome and Lisbon. In Brazil, he served as Secretary for Foreign Affairs at the Ministry of Planning, Budget and Management and as Director-General of the Department for Trade Promotion, at Itamaraty.
