Itamaraty is launching a magazine entitled “Around the World – Policies to promote gender equality”, containing articles by Brazilian Ambassadors on policies to promote equality and the protection of women’s rights implemented in 22 countries, and on how the issue is addressed within the United Nations.
The magazine is part of the “Around the World” series, by the Cultural Department, created with the aim of gathering information on public and private policies in other countries that may contribute to the debate on the respective issues in Brazil. The magazine is distributed free for governmental organs from the Federal, State and Municipal Public Administration, for learning institutions, to the press and to non-governmental organizations.
The edition on gender equality will be launched on 10 August, on the occasion of a lecture to be delivered by Minister Iriny Lopes, from the Special Secretariat for Women Policies, in the Rio Branco Institute’s auditorium.
