The Brazilian Government is pleased to inform that the Government of the People's Republic of China has granted its agrément to the appointment of Marcos Caramuru de Paiva as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brazil in that country. According to the Brazilian Constitution, the appointment must still be confirmed by the Federal Senate.
Marcos Caramuru de Paiva was Consul General of Brazil in Shanghai and Ambassador in Kuala Lumpur. He was also posted at the Embassies in Washington and Caracas and at the Permanent Mission of Brazil to the United Nations, in New York. In Brazil, he held the position of Secretary for Foreign Affairs at the Ministry of Finance.
