100 dias para os Jogos Rio 2016

Tonight, April 27, cities around the world are lighting up buildings and landmarks in yellow and green to mark the 100-day countdown to the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games, an initiative launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with its network of embassies and consulates, the Secretariat for Social Communication of the Presidency of the Republic, the Ministry of Sports, the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro and the Brazilian Tourism Enterprise (Embratur).

Because of the different time zones, Tokyo, Seoul, Doha, Athens and Johannesburg have already lit up their famous buildings and landmarks.

The following cities are participating in the initiative: Athens (Panathenaic Stadium), Atlanta (City Hall), Budapest (Chain Bridge), Brasília (Planalto Palace, Itamaraty Palace), Buenos Aires (Monument to the Spaniards, Planetarium, May Pyramid), Mexico City (University Olympic Stadium), Doha (Aspire Tower), Johannesburg (Nelson Mandela Bridge), London (London Eye, the Brazilian Embassy), Rio de Janeiro (Christ the Redeemer Statue, Maracanã Stadium, Lapa Arches, Carioca Arenas at the Olympic Park, Dom Eugênio Salles Bridge), Rome (the Brazilian Embassy at the Dora Pamphilj Palace), Seoul (Seoul N Tower), Tokyo (Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building and Komazawa Olympic Park).
