On 15 November 1975, Brazil and Mozambique signed an agreement to establish diplomatic relations. In these 40 years, the two countries have built a solid relationship based on strong human ties, broad historical and cultural affinities, friendship, solidarity and cooperation.

Brazil and Mozambique share common values regarding the promotion of peace and development, and are important partners in programs of cooperation in family agriculture, health, education and professional training.

Brazil celebrates these first forty years of its diplomatic relations with Mozambique with the satisfaction of a significant heritage of achievements and with the belief that the bilateral relations will continue to improve in the future, for the benefit of Brazilians and Mozambicans.
