The President of the Republic, Dilma Rousseff, will make a bilateral visit to Ecuador on January 26, when she will hold a working meeting with President Rafael Correa. The meeting will take place on the eve of the Fourth Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States – CELAC.
The visit will be an opportunity to reaffirm the strategic nature of the relations with Ecuador and the high level of understanding between the two Governments. The Presidents will examine themes of the bilateral and regional agendas, among which cooperation on migratory, social and health issues, trade and investment flows, in addition to UNASUR and CELAC.
Important partner in the process of regional integration, Ecuador is home to the headquarters of UNASUR and assumed CELAC's Pro Tempore Presidency in January 2015. Trade between Brazil and Ecuador reached US$ 783 million in 2015.
