Today, one year after the kidnapping of the students in Chibok, in northern Nigeria, the Brazilian Governmet reiterates its indignation at this criminal act perpetrated by Boko Haram as well as its condemnation of the repeated attacks the group has carried out against civilian populations – especially the most vulnerable among them, such as women and children.

The continued lack of information on the whereabouts of the students, the majority of whom aged between 15 and 17, is a constant cause for concern for the Brazilian Government, which shares the anguish of their families.

Brazil expresses its solidarity with the people and government of Nigeria, along with the hope that the efforts of the Nigerian authorities can secure the students’ safe return home.
