The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Paraguay, Eladio Loizaga, will visit Brasilia on July 15 for a working meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, Mauro Vieira.
The Ministers will address issues on the bilateral and regional agenda, particularly trade, physical integration and Mercosur. Brazil will transfer the Pro Tempore Presidency of Mercosur to Paraguay during the forthcoming summit of the bloc, in Brasilia on July 17.
Brazil is the main destination for Paraguay’s exports and also the main provider of its neighbor’s imports. Bilateral trade has almost doubled in the last five years, increasing by 94%.
In 2014, bilateral trade reached a record high of US$ 4.4 billion.
