On July 5, the Republic of Cabo Verde celebrated the 40th anniversary of its independence. The Brazilian Government was represented by its ambassador at the celebrations, which took place in Praia, the Cabo Verdean capital.
Cabo Verde has always been present in the Brazilian history, and in recent years the relationship between the two countries has intensified significantly. Bilateral relations were established in 1975, shortly after the independence of Cabo Verde, and encompass many different areas, from policy coordination to technical cooperation, including defense, trade and investment.
On this auspicious date, the Brazilian Government offers its congratulations to the government and people of Cabo Verde, and reiterates its wish that the bilateral relationship will become deeper and even more dynamic, with a view to achieving our mutual goals of peace, development and prosperity.
