President Dilma Rousseff will hold a working meeting with the President of Argentina, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, in Brasilia today. President Kirchner will also participate in the 48th Summit of Heads of State of MERCOSUR and Associate States.
During the working meeting, the presidents will review topics on the wide-ranging bilateral agenda and will also address regional and international issues, with a particular emphasis on bilateral trade, the integration process, and the negotiations for the Mercosur-European Union Association Agreement.
Brazil is the principal destination for Argentina’s exports and also the main supplier of its neighbor’s imports. In 2014, bilateral trade reached US $ 28.4 billion, which means that Argentina is Brazil’s third most important trading partner.
