The 8th Meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Working Group on the Agenda for the Post-2015 Development will be held on August 14. The meeting will address the implementation, in Brazil, of the “2030 Agenda for the Sustainable Development”, whose negotiating process was completed two weeks ago at the United Nations, as mandated at the Rio+20 Conference.
Considerable attendance of representatives from the civil society is expected in the event: it has been present and active throughout the negotiation of the Agenda for the past two years. Works will be conducted by the Secretary General of Foreign Affairs, with the participation of the Executive Secretaries of the Secretariat General of the Presidency of the Republic and of the Ministry of Finance, in addition to high level representatives from the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of the Social Development and Hunger Alleviation.
The meeting will be held at the Ambassador Joao Augusto de Araujo Castro Auditorium, at the Rio Branco Institute. Media professionals holding permanent credentials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Presidency of the Republic may participate in the opening session, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.
