Minister Antonio de Aguiar Patriota will visit Washington on 31 May and 1 June, in order to take part in the 2nd Brazil – United States Global Partnership Dialogue. The visit will follow up on the results of President Barack Obama’s visit to Brazil last March.
Minister Patriota will hold a working meeting with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, when they will address issues in the bilateral, regional and global agenda, with particular attention to peace and security affairs, such as the situation in the Middle East and Northern Africa, as well as cooperation on trade and investment, education, science, technology and innovation, energy, environment, among others. Minister Patriota is also scheduled to speak at the Brazil Institute of the Woodrow Wilson Center.
The United States is the largest foreign investor in Brazil, the second largest importer of Brazilian products and the second largest trading partner of the country, with a flow of more than US$ 46 billion in 2010.
