The Vice-President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, will visit Brazil for the second time from May 7-10, 2011. The Vice-President’s delegation includes the Minister of Roads and Highways, Joe Gidisu, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs & Regional Integration, Chris Kodo, and the Deputy Minister of Finance & Economic Planning, Seth Terpker.
On May 9, in Brasília, the Ghanaian Vice-President will meet with his Brazilian counterpart, Michel Temer, to discuss issues in the bilateral agenda. The Ghanaian delegation will also be received by the Minister of Development, Industry and Trade, Fernando Pimentel, to assess the participation of Brazilian companies in infrastructure projects in Ghana.
Currently, Ghana is the 8th African market for Brazilian products. In 2010, Brazilian exports to the country reached US$ 317 million. In 2011, they are expected to exceed US$ 400 million, a record figure.
