Republic of Cuba

Brazil and Cuba have convergent opinions on the importance of regional integration and the two countries defend common positions on the strengthening of multilateral issues such as peace, security and development. Through national companies, Brazil has taken part in the modernization of the Port of Mariel, which became the first container terminal in the Caribbean. The cooperation within the scope of the “Mais médicos” (“More doctors”) program, with the participation of about 9,000 Cuban doctors, stands out in the bilateral relationship.

Brazilian exports to Cuba reached 346.3 million dollars in 2017, while imports from Cuba totaled 19.7 million dollars. The total trade balance in 2017 amounted to 326.5 million dollars.
